Featuring 1,400 named lakes and seven of the top 11 lakes for number and size of bass fish in Florida, Lake County is the place to catch trophy fish.

To help anglers do just that, Lake County Tourism and the Lake County Communications Department recently launched www.lakebigbass.com, a one-stop-shop for fishing enthusiasts visiting Lake County.

“Anglers regard Lake County’s lakes as some of the most diverse and abundant for fishing in the entire state,” said Adam Sumner, Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Division Manager. “Florida is the Fishing Capital of the World, but Lake County is quickly becoming known as a premier destination for trophy largemouth bass. That’s why popular tournaments such as the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Tour, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bassmaster Southern Opens and Fishers of Men National Championship, and countless others have been held in Lake County.”

The website features sections highlighting the county’s top fishing lakes and provides valuable details including size and variety of fish, water depth and more; a directory of boat ramps, marinas and bait and tackle shops; charter boat rental information, local fishing guide services, local tournament listings; testimonials from the area’s top anglers and competitive fishermen; and a searchable, interactive map to explore fishing-related locales as well as places to stay, play and dine within Lake County.
